How it works
Nobody types in a heat time. The board reads what HYROX publishes and never guesses.
- 1Members sign up in 30 seconds. Name, race, Open or Pro, Singles / Doubles / Relay — and a partner or team if it’s a team race. No account, no download.
- 2Races come from HYROX’s official calendar. Upcoming races appear with the official dates. Nobody adds a race by hand or gets a date wrong.
- 3Heat times fill in when the start list drops. About three days out, each athlete is matched on the official start list — name, division, and partner must all line up — and their heat time, bib, and live link land on their entry.
- 4Race day: tap “Watch live.” One official link follows each athlete from the start line through every station to their finish. Entries flip to Up next → Racing now → Finished on their own.
Built for gym owners who don’t want another admin job
StartHeat started as the race board for one HYROX gym in Virginia. The owner’s ask was simple: “I want to know who from the gym is racing, and I don’t want to run a spreadsheet.” It ran their race weekend on autopilot, and this is that board, for any gym.

Questions
- Do my members need an account?
- No. They open your gym’s link and add themselves. Only the gym owner signs in, with an email link — no password.
- Where do the heat times come from?
- HYROX’s official start list, which they publish about three days before each race. StartHeat checks it on a schedule and writes the time onto the matching entry. Nothing is invented — if HYROX hasn’t published it, the board says so.
- What if someone’s name doesn’t match?
- The entry shows “not on the start list under this name” so they can fix the spelling; the next check picks it up. If two people share a name, the board flags it for a human instead of guessing.
- Which races show up?
- By default, upcoming US races from HYROX’s calendar. You can widen that to North America or worldwide in settings, and anyone can add a race that isn’t listed.
- Is this affiliated with HYROX?
- No. StartHeat is an independent product by RealInstall, built for gyms whose members race HYROX. It reads only what HYROX publishes publicly.
